May 6, 2015
We performed a cross-sectional survey of RHD among school-going children in Arequipa, Peru. Arequipa is situated at 2328 meters altitude above sea level and links the coastal and highland regions of southern Peru.
Between April and May 2014 a total of 1395 children from 40 classes in 20 randomly selected schools were invited to undergo active surveillance for rheumatic heart disease.
Results will be presented in the Best Poster Session at ESC 2015 in London.
